Experiment with exported hairs as Mesh

Hairs exported as mesh have now uv geometry. The UV-geometry is not optimal though.. I did a little experiment with a dummy hair-picture as texture:

  1. Hello Jose...first of all, I love all the hard work you've done. Now, what it the best way to 'thicken' up the hairdos that you've created? I'm used to the Blender 2.46 hair particle system, but your work seems completely different.

  2. Temporarily for experiment if you use the latest nightly build you can increase the thickness by incressing the number above the save hair textbox. The number is 1.0, if you input say 20.0 and then choose your hairstyle then you see a thicker hair on the model. You can then export this thick hair by pressing on Save with radiobutton save as mesh.

I will add the possibility of using blender particle system. I will add a vertex group called "hairArea" or something like that, so you may use it on the model to generate hairs using the particle system. Though some hairstyles will be extremely difficult to make using the particle system (like curly african or long ponytail). Show us some results if you made one :)
